Ava Do is a Asian American producer in the gaming industry based in Southern California, and video games are among her greatest sources of inspiration.
Ava is drawn to gothic dark romantasy because she loves reading and writing the things we're not supposed to talk about—female rage, revenge, and more insidious topics with teeth. She loves to write women who might be the villains in someone else's story, but are absolutely the heroes in hers.
WRITING INSPIRATION
Writing is one of the rare activities that refills her. She’s spent most of my life measuring herself by what others can see—being good, being recognized, being useful. But writing doesn’t ask that of her, and she doesn’t need anyone to tell her how she’s doing to want to improve. And when she first wrote Hellbound, she didn’t expect anyone to end up reading it. She just wanted to get the daydream out of my head and onto the page so she could move on to the next one.
So, she keeps writing.
